This summer at Lavender Forest Studio, your child won’t just make art—they’ll become an author and illustrator of their very own children’s book. Our progressive Summer Art Camp guides young artists (ages 6–13) through foundational skills in classical drawing and painting, building week by week toward an extraordinary final project: a professionally printed, 12–40 page book entirely written and illustrated by your child, available for print-on-demand ordering.

Each morning or afternoon session is limited to just 15 students, ensuring personalized instruction in a cozy, inspiring setting. As your child gains confidence in storytelling, character design, composition, and color, they’ll develop both technical skills and a deep sense of creative ownership. By the end of their journey, they’ll hold a tangible book—one they created from start to finish.

The program is designed and taught by Diana O’Brien, a certified New York State visual arts teacher, professional illustrator, and founder of Lavender Forest Studio. With 25+ years of experience and a fully insured creative space in Greenlawn, Diana blends educational excellence with artistic magic—making each child feel seen, supported, and empowered to tell their own story.
