Diana O’Brien is a seasoned children’s book illustrator, graphic designer, and certified New York State art educator with over 25 years of experience in the creative industry. As the founder of Lavender Forest Studio in Greenlawn, NY, and the nonprofit Authors of Hope, Diana brings a unique blend of artistry, heart, and education to every project she touches.

At Lavender Forest Studio, Diana creates a welcoming, imaginative space where children and adults alike can reconnect with the joy of hands-on creativity. From progressive art classes rooted in classical drawing and painting to custom bookmaking programs where young artists write and illustrate their own stories, Diana designs experiences that nurture both skill and self-expression. She also offers personalized live wedding paintings that beautifully capture the emotion of life’s most cherished moments.

Her mission is simple: to inspire wonder, cultivate confidence, and help others discover the stories only they can tell—one brushstroke at a time. Diana lives in Huntington, NY with her husband and two mischievous, art-loving children.
